We had a great family day out at Saltram House this week. The stately home is almost on our doorstep and I have to confess, it's been over twenty years since I have visited this gorgeous National Trust property. We spent an afternoon wandering through the rooms of the house trying to imagine living in it and around the gardens. The Chippendale furniture inside the main saloon is beautiful and still looks brand new. Apparently the price paid at the time is equivalent to £33000 today! WOW, and that's each!! One of the best parts, for me, was the main library. A large room filled with books. Now that's what every home needs. I could easily spend hours sitting in the library, staring at the books, sitting by the window and
inhaling the smell of old pages. Great house, gardens and most important, great family time.
